Public Speaking policies
Before speaking
- no gum food, drink, or ant fidgety thing
- be prepared, note cards rubric, visual aids
- keep appearance clean, neat and appealing
- deep breaths before speaking
- see if audience, and instructor if they are ready
Delivering speech:
- use eye contact
- use appropriate voice and tone do not speak too loudly or softly
- strand up straight
- keep hands to your side (unless gestures)
- watch speed, and take pauses
Listening policies:
- don’t enter or exit the room when someone is giving a speech
- give your full attention to speaker
- do not put head down, and no sleeping
- do not talk
- smile to the speaker
